Terms of Service

The rules for using Munshi, what we promise, what we don’t, and how disputes are handled.Last updated:

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Digital Munshi, a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Abdullah Rauf, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan ("we", "us"), for the Digital Munshi: Lawyer Case Diary app, the web app at https://app.digitalmunshi.com.pk (opens in a new tab) and the website https://digitalmunshi.com.pk (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Subscription Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.

1. What Munshi is — and is not

Munshi is an organisational tool: a case diary that turns your voice notes into structured records for you to review, reminds you of hearings and prepares lists of your cases.

  • Munshi does not provide legal advice, interpret law, calculate legal deadlines or predict outcomes, and is not a law firm.
  • Munshi is not affiliated with any court, bar council or government body. Dates and details in your diary are what you or your chamber entered or approved; always confirm them against official court records and cause lists.
  • AI drafts can be wrong. You must review every draft before approving it. You are responsible for the accuracy of the entries you approve.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. The Service is intended for advocates, law students, clerks and chamber staff. Keep your phone, Google account and sign-in codes secure — you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Chambers

A chamber owner can invite members and assign roles (Owner, Lawyer, Clerk). The owner is responsible for who they invite and for removing members who leave. Members can see the chamber’s shared data according to their role. If a member leaves, data they created in the chamber stays with the chamber.

4. Your content

You own the content you put into Munshi — recordings, cases, client details, documents ("Your Content"). You give us a limited licence to host, process, transmit and display Your Content only to provide and improve the Service for you (for example transcription and AI drafting by our processors), as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Content or use it for advertising, and our AI providers do not use it to train their models.

You confirm that you have the right to record and store Your Content, including information about your clients and other parties, consistent with your professional obligations.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service — including breaking the law, infringing others’ rights, attempting to access other users’ data, reverse engineering, overloading or disrupting the Service, or reselling it without permission. The full rules are in the Acceptable Use Policy.

6. Subscriptions, trials and payments

Paid plans, free trials, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by the Subscription Terms and the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Prices are shown in Pakistani rupees (PKR).

7. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Munshi available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Your offline diary and reminders on your phone continue to work during an outage. We may change or discontinue features; if we make a change that materially reduces a paid feature, we will tell you in advance.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Google Play, Apple, WhatsApp (Meta) and payment providers. Their own terms apply to your use of their services, and we are not responsible for their availability.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, design, the "Munshi" and "Digital Munshi" names and logos, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership. See also the End User Licence Agreement.

10. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that AI drafts, transcripts, reminders or messages will be accurate, timely or delivered in every case (for example if your phone is off, notifications are disabled or a third-party network fails).

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from a missed hearing, an incorrect entry you approved, or reliance on the Service instead of official court records. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Munshi and delete your account at any time (how). We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, with notice where reasonable. If your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only; your data is kept and can be exported, as set out in the Subscription Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Please contact us first — most problems are solved quickly. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, the courts at Lahore have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have under applicable law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email/WhatsApp at least 14 days before they apply. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
