Digital Munshi: Lawyer Case Diary asks only for what a feature needs, and it explains why before Android or iOS shows the permission prompt. You can change any permission later in your phone’s settings.
Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed | When it is requested | If you refuse |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microphone | To record voice notes when you press the mic | The first time you tap the mic | You can still type cases |
| Notifications | Hearing reminders and the morning summary | During setup | Reminders will not appear |
| Exact alarms (Android) | So reminders ring on time, even offline | During setup, where Android requires it | Reminders may be delayed |
| Camera | To scan documents into a case | The first time you use the scanner | You can upload files instead |
| Photos and files | To attach documents you choose | When you add a file | Only that action is unavailable |
| Biometrics | To lock the app with your fingerprint or face | When you turn on app lock | The app stays unlocked by that method |
| Internet | To sync your diary and process voice notes | Granted on install | Offline features still work |
What Munshi does not do
- It does not record in the background. The mic works only after you press it, and recording stops when you stop it or when the note reaches 3 minutes.
- It does not read your contacts, SMS, call logs or WhatsApp chats.
- It does not track your location.
Changing a permission
- Android: Settings → Apps → Digital Munshi → Permissions.
- iPhone: Settings → Digital Munshi.
