What does Khula mean? خلع

Khula is the dissolution of a Muslim marriage at the wife’s instance, granted by a Family Court, usually on her returning the dower or another benefit received.

Khula suits are heard by Family Courts under the West Pakistan Family Courts Act, 1964. The court first attempts reconciliation; if it fails, it may pass a decree for dissolution of marriage on the basis of khula.

In practice khula is often joined with claims for maintenance (nan-o-nafqa), dower (haq mehr) or custody, each with its own hearings.

In Munshi

When you say “khula” in a voice note, Munshi stores it as khula (divorce by wife) so search and printed cause lists stay consistent.
