What does Tareekh mean? تاریخ

Tareekh means a date; in court practice “agli tareekh” is the next date of hearing fixed by the court at the end of a peshi.

The next date is usually announced in court and written in the order sheet. Lawyers or their clerks note it in the diary, and many confirm it later from the court’s published cause list or case-status page.

Missing an agli tareekh can lead to adverse orders such as dismissal for non-prosecution or ex parte proceedings, which is why reminders matter.

How lawyers say it

“Adjourn ho gaya, agli tareekh 12 November.” — Adjourned; next date 12 November.

In Munshi

When you say “tareekh” in a voice note, Munshi stores it as date / next date so search and printed cause lists stay consistent.
